Food Distribution

The Iranian Red Crescent Society delivered 60 tons of food which was distributed amongst the 1000 most vulnerable families from across 16 districts in the capital Mogadishu. This was the first assistance from Iran in several years and it consisted of food parcels containing rice, sugar and flour. I was present at the food distribution and was touched by the amount of Du’a the people were making as they received the food parcels.

I feel very grateful to the Iranian Red Crescent Society for its assistance; Somalia will not forget anyone who helps it in these difficult times. As the saying goes ‘a friend in need is a friend indeed’ so whoever remembers us in this hard situation will always remain in our hearts.
The need is great and many more need assistance so we hope to continue working with the Iranian Red Crescent; they have pledged to continue their help and we welcome this brotherly offer.
